Acceptable Use Policy
CampusPress’s Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) outlines prohibited uses of our Hosting Services and applies to both our Clients and our Clients’ End Users.
- Permitted Use
- Clients and Clients’ End Users must adhere to CampusPress’s AUP as outlined in the Terms & Conditions, available at https://campuspress.com/terms-and-conditions/, as updated from time to time. In the event of any conflict between the Terms & Conditions and this AUP, the terms of this AUP shall prevail.
- Clients and the Clients’ End Users must use the Hosting Services solely for legal purposes. The Hosting Services must not be used:
- in violation of any applicable local, national, or international Laws or regulations;
- in any manner that is unlawful or fraudulent, or for any unlawful or fraudulent purposes or effects;
- to harm or attempt to harm minors in any form;
- to transmit or facilitate the sending of unauthorized or unsolicited advertising, promotional content, or any similar forms of solicitation, commonly known as “spam”;
- to knowingly transmit or upload data or material containing viruses, Trojan horses, worms, time-bombs, keystroke loggers, spyware, adware, or any other harmful programs or computer code designed to adversely impact computer software or hardware operation; or
- to access, interfere with, damage, attempt to perform a penetration or vulnerability test, or disrupt:
- any part of the Hosting Services;
- equipment or networks connected to the Hosting Services;
- software utilized in providing the Hosting Services; or
- equipment, networks, or software owned or used by third parties in connection with the Hosting Services.
- Client Material Restrictions
- Client-provided materials (“Client Materials”) must not:
- contain defamatory, obscene, offensive, hateful, or inflammatory material;
- promote sexually explicit content;
- promote violence or discrimination based on race, sex, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation, or age;
- infringe on any copyright, database rights, or trademarks of any entity;
- be likely to deceive individuals;
- be created in violation of legal duties owed to third parties, such as contractual obligations or duties of confidence;
- promote or encourage illegal activities;
- threaten, abuse, or unlawfully invade the privacy of others, or engage in conduct that a reasonable person would consider clearly offensive, intimidating, or disruptive;
- engage in targeted harassment or behavior intended to seriously distress or harm others;
- be used to impersonate others or misrepresent one’s identity or affiliation;
- imply, without approval, that they originate from the Host;
- advocate or assist in unlawful acts (e.g., copyright infringement, computer misuse);
- contain, store, or transmit Personally Identifiable Information (PII), including but not limited to Social Security numbers, financial account details, medical records, or any other regulated data classified as sensitive under applicable data protection laws (including, but not limited to GDPR, CCPA, FERPA, HIPAA); or
- include confidential or proprietary business information not intended for public dissemination, as the Hosting Services are not designed for secure storage of such materials.
- Client-provided materials (“Client Materials”) must not:
- Clients acknowledge that the Hosting Services are designed for public dissemination of information and are not suitable for storing confidential or sensitive data. CampusPress shall not be liable for any unauthorized access, loss, or exposure of such materials.
